ROME | Bald eagles nest at Berry College

ROME, Ga. -- A pair of bald eagles has apparently found a home on the Berry College campus in Rome.

The Rome News-Tribune reports that the site is the first known bald eagle nest in Floyd County in recent years.

Georgia Department of Natural Resources personnel were able to confirm the nest location recently, when a biologist spotted a bird carrying sticks to the nest site.

Renee Carleton, an assistant professor of biology at Berry, said the college might establish a viewing area for people who wish to observe the birds.
