Wings Over North Georgia postponed to Sunday | News
ROME, GA (WXIA) -- Due to the heavy rain, Saturday's Wings Over North Georgia air show has been rescheduled to Sunday. Saturday's tickets are good for Sunday.
“While we’re disappointed by the severe weather, the safety of our fans, pilots, aircraft and vendors is paramount,” said John Cowman, JLC Airshow president in a statement.
The Russell Regional Airport is not equipped to handle safe shelter in the event of severe thunderstorms, and the Federal Aviation Administration requires minimum flight level ceilings, which are not expected for much of the day due to the heavy weather.
Updates will be posted to the Wings Over North Georgia Facebook page through the day on Saturday. Organizers said a determination will be made later in the day regarding the scheduled concert with the Charlie Daniels Band and fireworks.
