ROME, Ga. -- Tickets are now available for the Spirits of the Civil War tour series hosted by the Greater Rome Convention & Visitors Bureau (GRCVB).

Spirits of the Civil War is modeled after the format of the GRCVB's popular cemetery and downtown tours, where history comes alive through storytelling and reenactments on the actual sites of major events.

The tours are part of a larger effort by the GRCVB to educate residents and visitors on Rome's Civil War history throughout the next five years.

"In an effort to connect the visitor and resident with our Civil War history, we created events and developed tours to attract visitors and educate them on our rich heritage," said Lisa Smith, executive director of the GRCVB.

The Saturday, Apr. 9 premier of the series will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery (90 Myrtle Street, 30162) and feature actors in period dress portraying notable citizens of the time.

Tickets are available at the Rome Visitor Center (402 Civic Center Drive, 30161) from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
