Pulitzer Prize winner to speak at Berry

ROME, Ga. -- Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Hank Klibanoff will speak at Berry College later this month.

Klibanoff will talk about his work with the Civil Rights Cold Case Project on Wednesday, Mar. 18 at 7:30 p.m. in Evans Auditorium. His talk is free and open to the public.

The Civil Rights Cold Case Project investigates the more than 100 racially-motivated murders that occurred during the civil rights era. Learn more at coldcases.org.

Klibanoff is the director of the journalism program at Emory University. He spent 35 years as a reporter and editor for various publications, including the Atlanta-Journal Constitution and the Philadephia Inquirer.

A book Klibanoff co-authored, The Race Beat: The Press, the Civil Rights Struggle, and the Awakening of a Nation, won the 2007 Pulitzer Prize for History.

He earned a bachelor's degre in English from Washington University and a master's degree from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwest University.
