ROME, Ga. -- The Greater Rome Convention & Visitors Bureau has rolled out a new program to recognize and reward the very best in customer service.

The "Superstars of Service" program will choose four winners every year from the many Floyd County workers who go above and beyond the expectations of visitors and residents.

"We want to recognize the very best in service across the county and have our front-line employees raise their standards to compete for this award," said Lisa Smith, executive director of the GRCVB.

The inaugural recipient is Bridgett Montgomery, director of sales and marketing at Hawthorn Suites in downtown Rome.

"Bridgett is more than deserving of this award," Smith said. "She is very attentive to the needs of each individual customer and we consistently hear from visitors that [she] made their day exceptional."

Montgomery has worked at Hawthorn Suites for two years, bringing eight years of customer service experience to the job. She is a Floyd County native and received her degree from Fayetteville State University in North Carolina after graduating from Rome High School. She is also active in the community through Flatrock Baptist Church and the H.R. Butler Chapter #96 Order of the Eastern Star.

"Great customer service is going beyond the expectations of all customers by listening effectively, understanding a customer's needs and always producing results," Montgomery said.

The next Superstar of Service award will be given in February. To nominate an outstanding employee, visit www.romegeorgia.org.
